A year of the mountains and seas...

It was a year in which the wandering trails took me places showered with nature's glory. A year to remember for the Mountains, the mighty mountains and the sea, the glorious sea. A year that has left inside me a bit of the both, hopefully as gifts forever. Imprints indelible on the soul. From some vantage Himalayan peaks to underwater in the Ocean, the year has indeed been fulfilling for my wandering thirst! Here's to the upcoming trails in the coming year..cheers!!

When it drizzles...

Woke up today to a mellow tender morning with drizzles abound!

Yes, something with light rains and me...the fresh air with a tinge of chill makes me euphoric without fail..

And that's when I realize that deep within all of us we are living and re-living some sweet memories from yonder years of childhood, of growing up, coming in terms with 'affairs of life'...

Coming from this town in Assam known for rains, and it really rains, I guess I have formed a bond with rains and a sunless, windy sky..

No, not gloom, but cozy moments in the bed with my favorite book ( often some world-classic, Holmes :) )...while the sky is humming some constant melody...eyes slowly drooping..

Football in a wet ground and 'bathing' in the pool of water by the fields , fishes ,tiny, golden, rainbowish..swimming in and out of you!..

happiest of all..picking up some tiny one in leaves on way back from school..with ur naughty boy shoes on the other hand..

This is how it drizzles down the memory lane....

Countless fishing expeditions in the later months to come..that's another sweet chapter :)

The wander lust of travelling

"its the journey, not the arrival that matters", thus said T.S. Eliot. Perhaps, but what for me is the most fascinating is what keeps the journey going and through what and where the journey passes, meanders, steers through..I guess that's what counts first!..

Destination, not in the sense of a culmination but as an inspiring source do count. For people like me what awaits at the end of the journey makes it worthwhile or otherwise. So let me understand the old wise saying in my own way and paraphrase( rephrase) : "It is the traveler who matters, then Journey , then destination."

Talk of Lu Tzu's wisdom of traveler not intent of arriving!!..that's the wander lust am talking about...

On Mu!

"Mu" is a traditional Zen koan which is supposed to have the power to fully awaken those who meditate on it.

"Mu" literally means "not." When asked a question, Master Ekai would often simply exclaim "Mu!" as a way of saying that both 'yes' and 'no' were too limited to be the answer.

Mu is neither affirming something nor negating it. It is an illogical answer that points to a profound, intuitive Zen understanding, beyond the limited rational mind.

In a way, "Mu" is saying, "Unask that question!", as in the state of full awareness, there are no questions.

Now I can just imagine so many situation in life when I feel like crying out: MU!!!

On Zen

....The simple and yet so deep stories of Zen that takes my mind to a plane of peace and calm, as if I'm sitting in the stone corridors of some quaint monastery where the clouds float in!

I think we all have our Zen selves to life...it echoes differently in all of us, some like me likes calling it 'Zen', some calls it otherwise. But how nice it is to travel with your mind and feel a soul connect.

In the beautiful deep forest of life, we all walk in..but with our own searches, seeking our own solace....

In our true moment of peace we are alone and awake...
